whats the best breed of rat to buy for a 10 year old girl?
Answers:Um i have a female rat, I don't think she is a certain rat just a $6.50 form the local pet store,
And she is the best and most smartest thing Ive ever seen!
And don't just go for the cutes one, we had a really overly cute little baby rat and a mainjy looking one which was brown and nibbler the mangy looking brown one is amazing and smart, and we taught her to come and her name and potty trained her to go in one side of the cage!
All rats are good pets. I would get one with hair though, so you don't have to be worried about the rat getting cold.

Well, there isn't much to say, but try not getting a hairless rat. I love rats, but the hairless ones freak me out. Try getting a hooded rat or one with an agouti coat. Personally, my favorite is the type with champagne colored fur and black eyes.

Rats are great pets. My last one was so intelligent - I could let her out and she'd come when I called her. Very cute.
No pet rat is better than any other, they have all been bred for temperament, colouring, handling etc. so there's not much difference between them except aesthetically. Just make sure you bring home a female rat...male rats are very smelly, grow a lot bigger than females and tend to be a little on the aggressive side.
