To most it is horrible, but this is because most keep guinea pigs as pets. As a pet owner you can not imagine anyone wanting to harm these defenseless, fluffy creatures yet to others it is tradition. We sit down at night and eat steak, the Peruvian tribes sit down at night to eat guinea pig. The Peruvians detest the fact that we eat chickens, cows and sheep, like we detest the fact that they eat guinea pigs. From a personal point of view, I don't like it and what guinea pig owner wouldn't. But we have to remember that it is tradition, it is as normal for them to eat guinea pigs as it is for us to eat chickens.

I think it is horrible but it's what people eat in Peru and other places. What do you think what they are thinking? "Eww, American people eat cows?" I think it is gross and horrible yet it's what some people live on.

In Peru yeah they eat them and personalyl I think thats gross but people eat what they have to to live

It's culture, my friend. Some people think it's horrible that people eat cows. Just about anything can be loved as a pet OR loved as dinner. Sorry.

people eat meat...and if you grew up in some other country where eating guinea pig were the norm, you would probably do it without batting an eyelash...just like asians that eat cats and dogs..i don't eat pets but i eat cow, and other cultures think that is disgusting
