Most people think they are gross- but they are actually very clean animals. They like a clean cage and love to use old blankets as bedding.

Were it not for asthma, I would still have them. I kept them in my classroom and the children also loved them as well as learned about them. Many parents were stunned they were rats and how funny they are as well as sweet.

The children in my class never were bitten by one- as they had been by hamsters.

Rats get my vote everytime!

Compared to what??eeeck!I think Rats are disgusting!Even Pet Rats are creepy,they have course hair and they smell fowl.And those big front Teeth almost like a Rabbit?I am scared of them,they can carry Diseases!

All rats make very good pets. They are bright and can be taught to respect your clothing and valuables. Very companionable. I knew a naval officer who had a huge white rat it must have been about 40cm from nose to tail. Both of them were total alcoholics. Nothing to see Mike and "the rat" passed out on the floor with "the rat" draped over Mike's neck. They slept like that as well. The cook hated "the rat" so we'd take turns sneaking it into the mess hall. Most of the guys loved him and as such he was spoiled little bugger.

Rats are the greatest pets! The only flaw they have is their short life span (2 - 4 years). They are so loving and so loyal. So much loved in such a small package. I could never see my life without ratties. They can melt your heart with one little tiny nose twitch. Who needs dogs and cats when you can have rats!

Rats make great pet . My kids grew up with them . They are defiantly one of my favorite pets . Clean , friendly , quiet ,affectionate , smart, easy to care for , cheep , and fun .

Rats are #1 yeahhh! I have 4 right now, they're the best pets I've ever had. Mine love to cuddle :D hehe. hmmm I think more people should love rats, like dogs! To the rude people above, rats are NOT ugly! That's so mean. They're the cutest things in such a tiny package. I love the babies.. so adorable! I also love how they like to play :] I could go on and on about my little ratties.
