Who thinks rats are dirty creatures & why do people like them,they attack people & bit &2007-11-24 22:19:10

They do tend to urinate randomly...so letting them run around isn't a good idea. And this also means cleaning the cage is a frequent job.and washing hands after handling them is a good idea.

Domesticated rats don't bite unless you handle them in a way they hurts or threatens them.and this is true of any pet.

I'm not a "rat person" but I think your overgeneralizing the little critters.

As a household pest, they are nasty...they soil things, chew things, get into food.and in some cases they will bite...especially infants and young children. But again, we aren't talking about pet rats...pet rats don't see humans as the enemy or as lunch.

i stay in GHANA in Africa and rats are edible here. they only attack when they are angry or are irritated.they are rodents and spread diseases which may be very harmful.people like them because they are good meat.

i have kept pet rats, they make fantastic pets, are very clean and rarely bite. have never heard of even a wild rat attacking someone, although i assume they would bite if cornered.

of course the wild ones spread disease, after all they live in sewers, but if you are careful in your own hygiene then it should not be a problem.

rats are very sweet. they are one of the cleanest animals and arent dirty and dont attack people. i dont no what animal your talking about but it isnt the rats a i know. they are very intellegent and kind hearted. how can you say that about a rattie?>
