dogs and cats bite! they can catch disease so can humans, as for them attacking people wouldnt you be scared if a giant cornered you ??

I have been bitten by many more hamsters than rats! why do people like them that is like me asking why do people like u? how do they attak pple they are quite calm nice creatures if loved and trained properly. and they do not spread diseases has long as they are domestic so stay away from sewer rats.

We've had quite a number of rats as pets and they are more sociable, intelligent and interesting than any other rodent I have had (I've had experience of mice, gerbils and hamsters). They are scrupulously clean and if you let them out to exercise, they don't poo until they are back in their cage.

I Love my rats. I had to have 1 of them (Hamlet) put to sleep today as he had a huge tumour. His little brother raffles is so cute and lovable. I was like you when my partner said he wanted 2 rats. I couldn't stand the thought of there tails and i also thought they were disease ridden. We have had the rats 2 years now and i can honestly say my opinions have changed. They are very clean sweet intelligent and they have never once bitten me. Don't get me wrong wild rats are terrible for carrying disease but it is us humans to blame for that by leaving litter laying around. Rats are only acting on instinct that being to survive.

Ok even wild rats don't carry that many diseases. Yes, personally I would like to be bitten by a wild rat but that would hardly ever happen unless you threaten it, rats just run away from you. I have a pet rat and he certainly would never bite me and I have no fear of catching diseases from him. I've had him for two years and I'm not dead yet. To be honest I would be more scared if I was bitten by a human as we carry more diseases.
