Guinea pigs get all kind of illnesses, including the common cold like we get. Clean the cage really well and make sure the other one is well fed & watered & not too hot/cold for a few days, & she should be okay. Sorry about your loss - guinea pigs are such sweeties that it's like losing a cat or dog. 3 is a pretty long life for a guinea pig.

i have known guinea pigs to get sick from a simple draft or fan blowing. they could have picked up something and was unable to shake it. just clean the cage real well with habitat cleaner that is antibacterial.

Awwww. : ( i'm sooo srry!! I had 2 guinea pigs too. and they both died at age 3... one of them had a tumor on her chest and we have no idea y the other died. maybe depression bcuz the other 1 died and they had been 2gether forever. So maybe your's was depressed and stopped eating or something. i'm srry i'm not much help...

Possible respiratory infection. If you had the two together, take precautions. Clean and disinfect the cage, all play toys they shared, water bottle and feeding dish thoroughly. Dilution of bleach and water. Let it air dry before placing new bedding.

Watch the last pig carefully. Start giving liquid vitamins (for small animals) and orange with the Rhine immediately

sorry to hear about guinea pig. Usualy the hardest part of survival for a guinea pig is making it through the first couple months of life. After that they are usually pretty hardy. The symptoms you are describing sound a lot like the infections that can kill gps early on such as kidney type. Although if your gp was 3 years old it might not have been a stretch as on low end of life expectancy. It is important to make sure the remaining one is getting plenty of vitamin c and is being kept free from drafty areas.

The little pig was infected by pollutions . Keep the pig with more exercises .But one point ahead , the exercise surrounding must be clean and dry .you'd better to disinfect all the environment periodly .
