Why did my hamster die2007-11-24 22:19:15

I don't understand.maybe he ate too much.maybe he got too hot.i dropped him once by accident,but he didn't really get hurt.what do you guys think?

Seeing as I've accidentally dropped hamsters, too and they lived another couple of years afterward... I'm gonna have to say no worries for it being a 'oh crap, he fell' death.

Rarely do rodents eat 'too much'.

...Too hot? So long as it was between 70-80 in the room he was in, he should have been fine.

Hamsters are extremely prone to tumors, however. They get wet tail, their teeth overgrow... a lot can happen to these little guys. I'm really sorry he died.. but it happens.

Death is a part of live, the sad part no one wants to face. It just happens, sometime without rhyme or reason.

Maybe he died for old age, that is if he is old. These things happen we just have to adjust to it. But i'm sorry that had to happen. I know how it feels. When my dog died last month I had no idea why. But these things just do happen.

If he had a cage then maybe he's near it.? Who knows it might still be alive anyhow? But if I were to find a hamster I'd find it near something sweet. Or a little chance in the laundary.
