Why did my hamster die
i got a pair of siberian hamsters and they died after a month. They were fed and sheltered well but then they died:(

Could've been genetic (often, pet store hamsters fall victim to faulty breeding) or could've been a respiratory illness (very common in small animals). Keep in mind certain beddings can provoke illness (cedar!), as well.

A harsh reality of owning a hamster is that they are incredably delicate creatures and sucumb to illnesses, infections or diseases very quickly.
There could of been any number of reasons why they died. But firstly were you aware that many hamsters are solitary animals and should never be housed in pairs? check that yours have not had a nasty fight resulting in death.
Other causes could be cancer, something they both ate ( they are very sensitive to what you feed them) a disease known as wet tail, stress, or old age if you were not aware of how old they were when you brought them.
Im so sorry again. I have a 1 year old hamster and would be devestated if he died. Because they can fall ill from un noticed symptoms I have my hamster regularly checked out now that he has turned one. Its just an idea if you think of getting hamsters in the future. He gets checked for hidden lumps and bumps, infections, hair loss and his legs, teeth, mouth, eyes and ears get checked too. Its well worth it to prolong the life of hamsters.
they might have got bitten by a spider like my brothers hampsters did and they did a couple days later

sorry, sometimes they get ill and we don't know, try getting another syrian, and put it in the cage alone, they are solitary animals, and make sure you clean out any old cage you may use. petsmart is where I get mine, they have been healthy. they quarantine the new ones in the back to make sure of no illness.
