did you feed them lettuce or other water-filled veggies or fruits? i had a guinea pig that died after less than a year. my vet asked if i was feeding it lettuce and explained to me that excessive lettuce causes diarrhea (sometimes unnoticed) thus leading to dehydration.

That's odd. There are a lot of sicknesses that guinea pigs can get. I once had one that died after about 4 months for no reason. Were you giving them vitamin c in there water?

Sorry to hear about your guinea pigs, first of all were you feeding them fresh fruit and vegetables as guinea pigs can suffer from scurvy which is a vitamin c deficiency, also did you supply fresh hay daily as they need this to keep alive. It is also possible that there teeth might of overgrown were they eating and drinking still if not this could of been the problem as where their teeth get so long they can curl in towards the tongue wich restricts them from eating and drinking which leads to dehydration. Another symptom could have been pneaumonia as this leads to being very week and also dehydrated. I hope you find out what happend and good luck with any future guineas
