Why do hamsters run round in a wheel all night2007-11-24 22:19:19

At morning he should put something dark over the cage so the hamster thinks its night time and then it will run on its wheel at morning and sleep at night!! At morning its fine cause no1 sleeps in the morning unless their ill right!

Because they get bored... It keeps them happy, exercise and fun! Hamsters are also nocturnal, so there really isn't much to do at night when you're asleep and they have no one to play with.

hi hammys run in the wheel at night because in the wild at night, they would travel very long didtance at time to get food that is why all hampsters run in the wheel at night it gives them wot they think they are traveling a long way. as for biting the cage onece he comes off the wheel the sounding is still the same and drives him mad its a good idea to move his cage around from time to time get him wood to nor on and sme toys hope this helped a little if u got any more just email me at kerryanimal@yahoo.co.uk kerry
