Why does my Bunny Jump funny2007-11-24 22:19:51

Why does my year and 6 month old bunny do these spontaneous random hops, sometimes even to the side lol. It's funny to watch, she could be just sitting there an then suddenly hop really far. I no there is nothing wrong with her an no she dont have fleas. All I want to no is why does she do that? Does it mean anything, she has been doing this since I bought her over a year ago when she was a baby.

She look perfectly happy when she does it, but she sometimes jumps into walls lol, there is also nothing wrong with her eye sight as she jumps up when I wall into the room and does it to nobody else.

You have hit the nail on the head Bonnie B! There is nothing wrong with your rabbit at all. She is just expressing her happiness to you. My rabbit does it every time I put her in her outside run. She jumps and skips and hops spontaneously too. And your rabbit obviously knows who her mum is as she jumps up when you walk in! No worries, she is just a happy bunny!

I had bunnies as a kid and they were great pets and would often take a strange jump for no reason.

They are as unpredictable as kids

Well my rabbit does that aswell and its real scary, its body wiggles when it jumps, i don't think theres anything wrong. Its natural for a rabbit to jump, although i have another rabbit that never jumps because its too lazy lol.

I had a rabbit as a teenager (me not the rabbit) that used to do that - I'm wondering if it was something to do with living outside and the wind blowing into their ears - it makes a lot of animals have "funny five minutes"!!
