Hamsters do not get periods.

Syrian hamsters, which is what I'm assuming you have, go into heat every 4-5 days. Unlike dogs, there is no blood when they go into heat. If you are seeing blood in conjunction with her heat cycle, that would indicate some sort of problem, either a cyst, tumor, cancer or infection.

You can try taking her into the vet but there won't be much a vet can do short of prescribing antibiotics if he suspects it's an infection.

At a year of age, females lose their fertility though they will continue to go into heat for almost the remainder of their lives.

If its from inside her she might have a tumour. I used to have a hammy who got a tumour. They had to put her down. The first thing we knew about it was the blood in her sawdust. Poor Hammy.
