1) how often do you clean the box...it should be cleaned once to three times a week depending on the hamster...

2) is your hammie potty trained...they sell special hamster potty litter and hamster litter boxes at the pet store (try pet co or pet smart or pet land...) this will encourage your hammie to poo in one place and then the poo won't get everywhere else (my hammie's are potty trained and it helps with cleaning as well...) try this link for the best hamster potty products out there:

all you have to do is take alittle poo and put it into the clean litter box the next time you clean his cage and he will learn that that is place to poo
