Why does my hamster bite me
The key to avoid getting bitten, is to know how to handle your hamster properly and know what not to do.
First off, hamsters don't like being woken up. If you have to, tap the cage gently and call out it's name. Never wake them up abruptly or they may bite.
Secondly, the more you handle hamsters, the friendlier they get. Try spending some quality time with them. If you are having troubles getting your hamster out, use a soft cotton cloth or what I use is a cat litter scoop. Be sure that she doesn't fall. Place her in a small, enclosed area. If your hamster doesn't let you touch her, try giving her a treat or a piece of vegetable. This will form a sort of bond between you and her. Eventually, she will learn to understand that you are not a threat.
Another tip is to always wash your hands before handling your hamster. If you touched some food, your hamster might smell it and mistake you as the food!
I know it is never pleasant to get bitten. My hamster used to do it a lot, but now, she's much more tame. As to why they bite, it is usually because they are scared or it might be that they are not properly tamed yet.
Don't give up and good luck!
Probably becasue she's not used to big hands reaching down to try and pick it up, she will grow out ofit though, just make sure that when you pick her up, you don't startle her to much.
