how old is it, you probly didnt tame it ight, despite that he bites u, play with him every day, and make sure ur hands dont smell like food. here are some websites:

hampsters have poor eyesite and cant tell what ur hand of finger could be, or mayb ur hands smell of something tastey ahah. some hapsters just need lots of handeling.

you dont say how old your hamster is, or wheather you handle him regularly. Try this: rub your hands in the bedding so any of your smells are irradicated, then slowly move towards him, encourage him onto your hand, this may take a while. My daughter found this to work, or you could try the old fashioned way and use treats that he likes so he associates you with something he loves, rather than a hand reaching in his home and taking him away. good luck

Dunno about hamsters but my jird learnt that when she bit me she got put away which is what she wanted so now bites me. She also does it when i pick her up too quickly or when i have her out too long.

Some hamsters are more prone than others to bite - some of mine did more than others. However, I wore gloves/gardening gloves for a while so that I would feel less jumpy myself and I trained it that way, so he didn't bite much in the end. I think the more confident you are with handling them, the easier it is to tame them as they are not picking up on your fears.
