Hamsters are rodents which by definition means that their incisor teeth - IE. the front ones - never stop growing. In the wild they would wear down gnawing roots etc, so your hamster is just filing down its teeth.
You can get it some hamster chews from the pet shop for it to graw on.

he's trying to chew down his teeth. you'll need to buy him some wooden chew toys to chew on so he can grind them down. over time their teeth get longer and they need to keep them chewed down so they dont grow too long. right now the bars to the cage seem to be the best thing he can find.
