Answers:There could be many reasons. The simplest is that she is not hungry. Many give animals more food than they need or want, and then wonder why they do not eat it. Take all food out for a couple of hours, put in a smaller amount, maybe half, and see if she eats any. Giving her smaller amounts, two or three times a day, might change her habits.
Think about it, how big is the cage compared with where she stayed in the pet store? Is she getting a much exercise as she got there, maybe playing with other hamsters, etc... She also could be lonely, being alone, maybe more attention or personal contact. An exercise wheel if you do not have one or something else to give a variation of exercise..
She could be sick, and a trip to the Vet may get you a better answer than any you could get here. Even a Vet can't diagnose a problem, over the telephone, they need to examine them. Is she the first hamster you have had? If you have no experience with hamsters, it may healthy, but if you have never had her checked by a Vet, I'd highly recommend it. People go to doctors for regular checkups, and all animals need too. We can tell our parents when we do not feel good, animals just accept the way they feel. Only by a checkup can we tell they are healthy.
i think you have a dumba5s hamster lol... when i had hamsters... i made them lego houses and they ate the legos, no matter how much they had.
It could be that your hamster is sharpening her teeth (filing them down) since they continously grow instead of being hungry. I had 5 young (sibling) teddy bear hamsters one time that shared a 2 story cage with a little hut, a wheel, and an observation deck...but there was ONE hamster that drove me nuts he's run back and forth back and forth back and forth along the front of the bottom cage chewing on the bars at the end (maybe an attention grabber you have there :) )
All hamsters chew on their cage, my hamster lays in the corner of his cage and scratches/chews at the corner. He HATES the chew blocks. Try a dog biscuit, a salt wheel or other treats that they can chew on. Also, hamsters hide their food so you don't know if they're eating it or not, unless he/she becomes weak and doesn't want to move then I'm sure he/she is eating.
My hamster did that to but after a while he stopped and chews his chew ties up so i have to change it a lot. vita-vittles is a good type of food to give your hamster my hamster loves it! I give my hamster a peice of carrot everyday and he really loves it! There is a good type of treat called Snix Snax and my hamster loves every single treat in it! Hope i helped!
