So i have to female syrian hamster that have a large cage ... Wel actually 2 large cages joined together. I use Pine wood chips. 1 of my hamsters always sleeps and hiccups alot. The other is fine. I know it sleeps all the time because last night i stayed up all night. Why does it hiccup ?
Answers:well hamsters are nocturnal wich means they sleep during the day and are awake at night. i dont think pine is good bedding, so that might be the cause of the hiccuping. try carefresh bedding or aspen
Mine used to nip on the chips and did the same had to change it pet store said and they will have allergies like us
to different things. If no help there ask a vet.
It might be allergic to the pine. try changing to a different bedding and see if it still happens.
