Why does our hamster seem frantic2007-11-24 22:19:53

I highly doubt that he's sick. I think he's just coming out of adolesence and becomming an adult hamster.

That is pretty strange. I had tons of hamsters and I really don't remember any acting like that.

Was he doing this during the night? Is there any other pets around or children that may be messing with him when you aren't around?

I really don't know what else to say about that.

If the temperature had recently changed He might have been too hot or cold and so adjusting... Also if your wife went to pick him up when he was trying to fix that he may have just been confused.

I had a Hamster that had seizers and that also sounds like what she would do. She was same time after I got her too. 2 mon. and she developed wet tail (usually deadly hammy sickness) she lived but had little fits every few weeks. She would forget who I was and I would have to tame her over and over again. She would also frantcally rearange her home afterwards.

They always try to escape. No use trying to prevent that.

My syrian done that because she didnt have enough space i dont blame her the cage was a bit small she was biting the riddles and tried to escape which was succesfull we found her she died a few days later ;(

you should see if the cage is small ma hammy done it coz she had no space, was bored, and cheewed the riddles and nibled me so see maybe the cage is too small

if you gave him the proper attention and care, there shouldn't be a problem. hamsters are always trying to escape or finding ways to do so. that's their nature. my hamsters do that after i place them back in their cages after playing with them. they just love the attention =)
