Why doesnt my guinea pig want to come out of her cage
I've had her for awhile and shes never been really shy to me, but today when I tried to take her out of her cage she ran inside her igloo and when I picked the igloo up and went to get her she bit me.
Is something wrong with her or did she just not want to taken out
Answers:Since she doesn't seem to fancy being held, start off by getting her a friend from a local animal shelter. Guinea pigs do best in pairs, since they are herd animals. They will be quite lonely otherwise. If you get another, make sure it is the same gender, than follow these inductory techniques for a safe arrival ( http://www.cavyspirit.com/sociallife.htm... ) a lot of the times, guinea pigs can influence other guinea pigs to try new foods, or in your case, be more friendly with the care giver. I hope that you can find a solution that will work for you.
Of course, now that I re-read your question I see that she hasn't always been shy. Then yes, I would agree with the others and take her to a vet and get it checked out. Could be a bad case of mites or URI.
maybe she want to play withe you. or she is not comfortable in shes cage.
I can't really tell how old she is from the statement, "I've had her awhile", but as sows get older they can develop "female" problems such as ovarian cysts, mammary cysts, etc. This can cause them to be kind of grouchy.
