Why doesnt my hamster drink water2007-11-24 22:19:54

You need to buy a syringe from a petstore and hand feed her the water. Then take her to the vet immediately. Preferably one who specializes in exotic pets.

ur hamster dose drink water because they need it 2 surrvive so u just dont see it driking cause i thiught my hamster didnt drink water but he / she dose when u dont look so if he / she wasnt dring water it would be dead by now trust me

Maybe your hamster Isn't used to the water bottle you have. I could have been different at the store/farm. Or your hamster is hydrated and doesn't need water @ the time.

some hamster are nocturnal and only eat, drink, and play all at night.

try giving her a salt block to simulate her to drink. Or you could force feed her with a dropper.If She still refuses, bring her to the vet

Im no hamster expert but i think i no why ur hammy hasn't been drinking water. Its probably the water bottle you are using. Some of the water bottles have like a curve at the end, some of them just stick straight down. Make sure ur hamster can get access to the water bottle. This happened to me to, my hamster couldnt drink water because the water bottle was sticking straight down. If none of these seem to be the problem you might probably want to take it to the vet. Make sure his/her ears stick up straight, eyes open and dosent have white stuff, check the poop make sure its not diarea. I hope this helped and that your hammy will be ok! good luck!!=)
