Why is my 4 month old guinea pig (boy) trying to hump my 7 week old guinea pig(boy)- will he calm do
we have had the eldest guinea pig for around 2 months-
we got the younger guinea pig around 4 days ago-
we are introudcing them gradually (hour or so at a time)
they seem happy with no fighting_
more recently the larger 1 seems to be geting a bit friskey
with the size difference we are a bit worried for the smaller 1-
has any 1 else had this problem-??
we are not going to put the togeather for a while-
the larger 1 is very excited & they both chat away to each other - smelling etc --- the larger 1 is rubbing his belly all over the place and keeps sniffing the smaller 1 ( A LOT )
do boy guines pigs have gay relationships?
does the larger 1 know that the smaller 1 is a boy ??
should we keep them apart longer -untill the smaller 1 is large enough to stick up for himself??
they eat togeather - enjoy chatin away--
but we have to give the smaller 1 a break from the larger 1 -because he gets a bit to frisky at times
is this usuall ?

Answers:Whoever told you that two unrelated male guines pigs could live together is not telling the truth. Male guinea pigs that have been kept together from birth without females may live together but it cannot happen with two unrelated males, the older pig is allready trying to show dominance of the younger one and this will lead to attacking it and biting very soon.
They need to be seperated as soon as possible before any wounds occur.
