Why is my guinea pig doing this
My guinea pig Reese's just started biting the butt of Rocher-my other guinea pig. Rocher is now missing fur. While Reese's was doing this Rocher was not making any noise or trying to run away. I have had them for two and 1/2 years and they have never done anything like this. They have only occasionally mounted each other which I know is a sign of dominance. Reese's just started an antibiotic for a UTI last week... could this be affecting her behavior? I separated them, but am concerned. They have never been separated before. I don't want Rocher to get hurt though and she is already missing a patch of fur. They are both females. Does anyone know why they are doing this and what I should do?
Answers:Could be barbering, when one chews the fur off the other. A sign of dominance. Separation is the only way to stop it. So buy a new cage it could be small, because its only haveing one guniea pig in it. But as I would say, Rocher finds it relaxing. I know it is sory of weird, but it might be true, I reccomend you take it to the vet to see what the professional would say, because it might be natural, I've seen it happen.
