Why is my hamster have bald spots2007-11-24 22:19:59

My hamster bob has 2 bald spots both on his back side by side both seem to be swolen. he's had them for months now and I'm startting to get woried.

how old because when my hamster started 2 get old (aroud two years old) he started 2 get scabs and bald spots and then he died im so sorry if thats the case

may be that he or she has an allergy or skin irritant that has spurned into an infection? Please take it to a vet or pet store for help.

he might have mites, lice, or fleas. my hampster was always itching and flinching really wierd. she was like spazzin. i talked to the local pet store owner and got some mite repelent. i sprayed her 1-2 times a day and they went aways. she stoped itching and never has since. try talking to a vet or showing her to a local pet store owner/operator

well dont worry when my hamster lily had bald spots i took her to PETCO or you can take it to PETSMART since i didnt know where i could find a vet, but anyways they gave me tips and some cream to put on her she was fine, they said it was probably her habitat and then i changed her bedding!
