Why is my teddy bear hamster acting like this2007-11-24 22:19:29

She just had babies a few minutes ago and now she is trying to get out of the cage! And she only had 3 babies is that normal? She acts like she is finished but she still is kind of big so can you help me?? :) Thanx

be careful. my hamster had babies and she ate em all! dont make her mad cuz then she will do that too. just let her be and she will be a good mom. maybe

isn't there supposed to be an afterbirth? I've never had hamsters but if I had a pregnant pet I'd certainly do lots of research ahead of time to know what to expect. Sounds like you need to go to the vet.

this may be pretty sad but she is trying to abanded them.. umm there are two options there both alittle trickyget like a nother mother somehow. or this one is very extreamly hard. go to the vets and get a special formula. every 3-4 hours u must feed them that means you will have to wake everynight to feed them. also just try giving boiles

eggs,puppyformula,just some veggies myabe she hungry ands she eeds food to create milk

Also u can not disturp her. she might ki9ll the babies because she thinks there in danger. hope it hepls

its like when my pet rat was pregnet she lived with her boyfriend i left the door opened and she went to a nother cage and stayed there then she gave birth the next day 16 babies but she whouldnt let you toch them. but every time when i ame near her she tried to get out
