to get your cavy to like you for a week leave it alone.you only bother it give it food water and clean the cage.After a week you star saying its name and quiltly talkto it so gets usto your vocie.do that for a week.thenstart stoking it and saying its name.leave it in cage when you storck it. problely afterr a week it aLOW you to pick it up

How long have you had him? When I was going to buy my guinea, I noticed he was very shy. I didn't want to take him home like that around my children ( him being afraid ) so I visited him in the pet store everyday for a few days and played with him. When I decided to take him home, he was use to me. He recognizes my voice and is very pleasant. I think he's even spoiled. It's funny because he squeals when he hears us come in and when it's meal time he wants to eat also.

My g'pig never bonded to me. I ended up taking him back and getting another rat. Nothing loves you like a rat. =)
