Answers:Actually, hamsters are not very similar to rats in some ways. If he is going bald he could be allergic to something in his cage or sick or have parasites. Is he anywhere near a draft? Has he been in contact with someone who is ill? You better take him to a vet to have him checked out just to be safe. It could be something minor or serious. I cannot give you a diagnosis myself, as I am not a veterinarian, but I have pet hamsters and I have done lots of research prior to adopting them. I am pretty sure he is sick. Does he have watery stools, a wet bottom, or has he been throwing up or lost any weight? If you noticed any of that then he IS sick. Take him to the vet either way. It could mean the difference between life or death.
i see the problem. when my rat was old that was the only time his fur fell off . if your hamster is old and this is happening then no worries this is very common in older hamster
Your hamster is probally old and is losing hair because its old. Your hamster might be sick so i would ask a vet.
