What type of container do you have his or her water in? If you simply have it in a dish, i wouldn't recommend that at all. Use a hamster water container bottle if your not using one already. If you are using one, then maker sure the bottle lets water out easily. it may be on of those cheep bottles that came with the cage you bought. Simply go to a pet store and buy a better bottle.

yeh chewing on his beding is fine they like to stick stuff in the pouches and carry it about. as for the water wel hamsters are only really active at night so chances r u didnt see him. but monitor the water bottle to check if it is getting less over the next few days....gl x

Hi there I think he is drinking you just did not see him they need water and would be showing signs of illness other wise. His chewing of the bedding is normal hamster behavior they like to chew. What kind of water bottle are you using or is it a dish? I prefer the bottles they give out just what the hamster will drink and it stays cleaner bottled they get everything in their water otherwise. Keep a watch on him and I am sure you will see he is drinking. I had a teddy bear type called Ted O_O he lived over 6 years. Enjoy your pet

ok just take the water bottle and put it in front of him and see if he takes it! And maybe take a sunflower seed and rub it a little on the mouth piece only a little bit!! O and PLZ CHANGE TO CAREFRESH BEDDING CUZ PINE SHAVINGS AND CEDAR CAN KILL YOUR HAMSTER SO CHANGE TO CAREFRESH ASAP! If u have any hamster questions plz email me!!
