Wild baby rabbits
My neighbor has found 7 baby rabbits in a small burrel in her front yard. They have fur, there eyes are open, and they can move around fine. My other neighbor took the rabbits and put them in a bigger whole in his backyard because they say that the mother hasnt been scene in days. They are feeding them friuts and vegitables. I dont think this is right because i think the mother is just around when no one is looking, and now she will never find her babys agian. Theres nothing i can really do now, but will the babys be ok? I am reallly worried about them. Thanks!!
Answers:heyy, ur right, it is a bad idea to take them because they are probably still nursing. they should have been left where they were found, now the mom might not find them, but she is still around if they're still alive she should move them to the old hole, but tell her to where plastic gloves because if the mom rabbit smells the human scent she will kill her babies! tell her to be carefull while moving. hope i helped! :)
They should be put back where they were found--rabbits are mostly active at night and in the evenings, and are very afraid of humans, so it's very likely that she is just coming around when no one's looking. They will likely die if the mother can't find them, they may not even be weaned yet.
Baby rabbits are weaned very early in life. Once the eyes are open, they are able to fend for themselves.
