Will Hamsters eat themselves to death, or do they naturally stop when they are full and Hoard the rest for when they are hungry again.

And on the topic of Food is it ok to give Syrian Hamsters a very small about of Whole Grain bread?

Hamsters do look incredibly greedy, but your correct, they store most of their food away, and eat little and often every few hours.

It is perfectly fine and healthy to give a syrian hamster wholegrain bread. Just dont feed hamsters human junk food like crisps, sweets and chocolate. it will kill them.

No, I am pretty sure they are like fish in the context that they are not smart enough to know when to stop eating. As far as the whole grain bread I imagine it would be okay to give them that but I am not sure.

Hamsters dont actually eat all the food they stuff into their mouths. They store it all in ther pouches in their mouths for when they are hungry or when they are taking it to their 'home'

It looks like there eating enough food for an army but there actually storing the food in there cheeks. They eat it later.

They eat until they are full and will just hoard the food. My lil hammy will pretty much empty his bowl when I fill it up for him and then hide it all around his cage. Its their instinct to do that.

Hamsters will not eat them selfs to death. Where did you hear this? what hamsters do do is they pack there cheeks with food, to hide it as they would in the wild or to put it in there "home". usually they will put food in a corner of the cage, this is probably the same reason most animals hide food, because other animals could eat it or i maybe it's just for fun. my hamster is weird because she cleans up the food in the cage and puts it in her bowl, she is a tidy hamster. i feed my hamster whole grain bread all the time.
