Hamsters are highly territorial and tend to be solitary creatures. Sorry, the guinea pig and hamster will not tolerate living together.

Hamster will be perfectly content being by himself. As for the guinea pig, you can get him a buddy if you want.

Only thing is, when you have two, the cage gets pretty stinky fast and you will have to change their litter at least every 5-7 days. It gets to be a real pain.

No hamsters usually don't like living with there own kind. Guniea pigs and a hamster not ok DO NOT Try it ore something bad will happen to your hamster!!! Keep it in seperate cages.

are you serious??the guinea pig could seriously hurt the hamster in a food scuffle one is a none stop eater(the pig the other is a hourder of food!by all means get both but house them seperately and get 2 pigs they dont like to be alone

The answer is emphatically NO. Cavies should only be housed with other cavies. The piggie and the hamster will fight, causing one or both of them to have serious injuries, up to and including death. Please do not put them through this.

i wouldn't try it due to the size difference the guinea pig at leasttorment the smaller hamster and keep it from eating and at worst may actually kill it so i would get a seperate cage for the hamster they will both be happier

My guinea pig is really well behaved with my other pets - a cat, and 2 rats. I always supervise, and he does not share a cage with the rats. Do not alloe your hamster and your guinea pig to share an actual living space - if you are watching them while they are out and you don't see any problems, then you should be fine.
