well I had a hamster that a friend gave me and It was in a wooden cage,well what do you know... The hamster made a hole and escaped. I have no idea where it could be. It has been roaming my house and I havent seen it, and at times i wonder if it is still alive. My friend should have known better than giving me a wooden cage since I dont know about hamsters. Anyways I really liked that hamster so much and Im thinking about getting me another one,well I just wanted to know which kind is the best as pets?k thanks

Keep looking for your hamster. Mine was actually lost over a week. He found a great place to hide and was eating the seeds my birds dropped.

This is how I found mine. I hate to say he got loose twice. The first time I tore the house apart. I found him in the case I kept my microphone in.

The second time he was gone much longer. Over a week. I looked everywhere in everything. I was really upset. Keep in mind your hamster is nocturnal and he will probably find a safe place to nest and sleep during the day. If you look for him he could be anywhere basically. I suggest waiting till night. He will be up looking for food, chewing or making noise. Have the house quiet and just sit and listen. I would start in the room he escaped from. Also keep all the room doors in your house closed so you can rule out each room searched. You might even discover evidence of him being there like chewed up cloth or paper. Anyway don't give up. And when you find him get a safe cage. Mine escaped from on of those plastic ones with the tunnels. She is now in a wire cage. Good Luck! Evita

If your hamster is in your house somewhere it will live for a while but eventually it will die or get eaten. The best type of hamster to get is the syrian hamster because they like to be held and are pretty tame.
