It's difficult to say for sure if they will remain friends after they sexually mature. It just depends on their personalities. We had two males (Demetrios and Antonio) that were brothers, but after about 6 months of being good buddies, Demetrios began bullying Antonio. They would get very violent, even biting each other bloody on some occassions.

I would suggest keeping them together but watching them very carefully for the next few months. Examine each of them closely for bite marks or missing hair. Also, it might help to have at least one of them neutered to tone down the testosterone level between them. Getting them both fixed would be ideal, but even that is no guarantee they will remain friends. The most important thing is to keep them both away from female pigs!! Once either one of them gets a scent of a female, that will cause them to become more aggressive toward each other. I hope this helps and good luck!

No, they wont *always* eventually fight. I'm sure there are cases in which male guinea pigs would fight each other, but I'm pretty sure it depends on their personality. I had 2 male guinea pigs together and they loved each other, were constantly snuggling, cuddling etc, then one died and I replaced him with another male guinea pig, and after a few days, those 2 got along just fine too.

However, my piggies were extremely laid back so that probably helped a little bit. If your guinea pigs were litter mates, and you have a big enough cage for them then they probably wont fight, but you should have another cage handy, just incase they decide they dont like each other as adults.

There is a good chance they will begin to fight! One will want to be "top dog" and will try to establish their dominance! This is typically in any animal world! Though, it is possible you could get one submissive Guinea Pig and there would be no fighting for ranks!
