rats are social creatures so they should do- introduce them to each other one at a time-in your hands-see how they react-xx

they might not get along at first

what you have to do is..

take all the rats out of the cage and put them together in like a play pen.

do that then put them in separate cages

then put them together in the pen the next day and so on so they will become friends

clean out the cage you will be putting them in

clean it REALY good so there is no sent of the rats

rearange the bowls/toys/water

then put them all in the same cage

watch them so no accidents happen..

if accidents do happen then remove that rat for a bit.. do the play pen visits for a while.. then replace the rat

well, much like human, it really depends on their individual personalities.

your 2 rats are getting along peacefully, but does not mean they are going to like or dis-like other rats. introducing another rat, is like asking these 2 rats to re-learn the packing order in the house. think, if all of a sudden your parents bring another person into the house and you are to share your bedroom with this person, how would you feel and act...

suggestion, let them play in a bigger area at first, only after you observe that they are getting along, then should you put them is close quarters, such as a cage.

if they are all male it is not the best idea to put them together but it is still fun to play with each others pets. Males are very Territorial and may not agree on the way the other rats are. tho if you are out with them you may be able to put them together but as long as their not in each others cages. it is a good idea to put them in a neutral environment because they would not be that Territorial because it is not there space. if they are female it also might not be the best idea but i guess u knew that. not because of fighting but because girls can some times be as Territorial as boys if thay are the dominant rat.
