Will my brothers hamster be ok2007-11-24 22:20:06

I know its a dumb question, but im sleeping in my brothers room b/c mine i just painted today; and he has a hampster that runs on his wheel and its REALLY loud. So, i put it in his large closet, still in its chage and everything but he will have plenty of air and everything right?

Should i just take him out, i dont want to hurt it or anything. Thanks for any advice :)

Just take the wheel out, because I had a pet hamster and her cage was in my room. Around 2:00am she kept running on her wheel and it drove me crazy. And even worse, she knew how to get out of her cage and I found her under my bed, in my closet (chewing my shoelaces!) and under my desk.

Your brother's hamster could probably squeeze through the crack under the door and get out and probably get lost like mine almost did. An easy solution would just be to take the wheel out of the cage at night. It solved my problem.

It will be just fine. Some times with our hampsters we will just take the wheel out of the cage.

If the door is open a little it shouldn't be a problem but maybe another idea is to take the wheel out unless it's one that's attached and you don't have a lid thing to put over the hole...if it's one like that maybe you could put something over the wheel like a piece of metal or maybe a stuffed animal...worked for me once with a stuffed animal but depending on the cage it may get out so be careful.

yes. i keep my hamsters in a large closet. they get enough air because i leave the door cracked.

i keep my hamster in my closet at night to but i put a flashlight in there thats a far distance away from the hamster and i leave the door open, make sure its not where it could fall or anything can fall on it, if his closet is musty or too cold you may want to pt it in the basement, laundry room or a bathroom, i hope this helps!

he'll be fine, you can also try putting him in the bathroom tub, in his cage, and shut the door.
