i have 3 hamsters, which are kinda like gerbils, and if u give them a lot of food, and a lot water they will be great! :]

Your gerbils should be fine, but you HAVE to have someone check on them at least every other day. If one of them gets hurt, has an accident, or the water bottle drains because it's hot, or something else totally unexpected happens, it's necessary to have someone that you know will help and fix the situation. If you're only going for a week, they'll remember you - they may be pissed at you for not taking them with you, but they'll remember. Just ask a neighbour to check on them every couple of days. Or, leave them with the neighbour at their house - you never know, they could get spoiled rotten!

put as much food and water in the cage as possible. clean the cage the day u leave and the day u come back. make sure they arent in the way of other pets or anything else. they will probly remember you. have fun on ur vacay!

I've owned and raised gerbils for years. For one week they will be just fine.

Remove anything in the cage that they could get trapped in or under including the exercise wheel. Even simple things like toilet paper rolls need to be removed. I had a friend who's hamster got trapped in one of those rolls while she was on vacation so, better to be safe than sorry.
