Will two male hamsters fight if in a 10 gal cage2007-11-24 22:20:10

but two Syrian hamsters(the big ones)

CANT be living together in ANY kind of cage

they will fight to the DEATH

but if its the Dwarf hamsters (the little hyper ones)

then yes they can be put in either cage

YES! I almost bought 2 hamsters. You can have them together as pups but when they grow into adults they cannot be in the same cage. They fight no matter what size of cage you have.

dont put two males together or two females. they will fight. one of my hamster actually died from a fight. a wire cage they can chew on so that their teeth wont get too long. but in a gal cage, they won't be falling down from the top. if you get the gal cage, just give it a dog biscuit to chew on so the teeth dont get too long.

2 male hamsters will actually not just fight, but will kill each other regardless of what cage you house them in.

Hamsters are solitary animals and must be housed seperatly. They are exremely territorial and will kill another hamster if sharing a cage.

syrian hamsters are not social animals, particularly not the males, so it's best to keep them each in a separate cage.

my opinion, hamsters would love crittertrail cages with tubes. my hamsters love it, and no they will not fight
