Woud a rat i found in my garage make a good pet2007-11-24 22:20:13

It's not going to be tamed, any more than you could tame a wolf that you caught and put in a pen in the back yard. If you try to handle it, you're likely to get scratched at least, or be bitten. Then you need to be treated, and the animal will be killed to test it for rabies. Like I said - it's not something to be taken lightly.

If you don't want to kill it, take it somewhere far from your home and release it. A river or stream bank will give it a place with a good source of food, since everything needs water to live. But do it somewhere far from human habitation - you don't want it going back into someone's home!

if u put it in a cardboard box then it will hav escaped!!and if u let it loose in ur room then they can dislocate there solders to get through treally mall spaces. dont keep i t as a pet cause wild rats spread fleas and diesease and the ones that u buy at the pet store are special breeds and they have been cleaned and tamed since birth. get rid of i quick before ur mum dad find out.lol.

Not a good idea-It is dirty & transmit diseases.You will hear your mom srceaming "Rats" when she clean your room.
