Would it be ok to get a neuterd female bunny to go my male bunny2007-11-24 22:20:16

they are both fixed but can i put a male and female together

Answers:

its a match made in heaven.

2 neutered rabbits are the best but 1 of each sex is even better.

rabbits should always have company, so do get another 1.

As long as BOTH animals are spayed/neutered, it shouldn't be a problem. I put my neutered male rabbit with an intact female and he was quite happy, but she was still territorial and slightly aggressive because she was not yet spayed.
yes. They will not harm each other. They will just not be able to conceive a baby bunnie.
Yeah it should be fine. They might start humping anyways. It just bunny instinct.
I had a fixed male and introduced an un-fixed female. The male was a Holland Lop, he had had a guinea pig as a buddy (bunny was box-trained, GP had a cage) and when both were out they did play and get along. GP passed away at about 6, so I got a new bunny, female. She was a Rex, so became much bigger than my male. I had her for a few months before getting her fixed, we had a few minor tussles but nothing bad. She quickly grew larger than the male, but they got along and slept in the same area.

If you are getting a new animal, make sure the size is comparable to reduce the risk of serious injury if they do have a fight. But watch them very closely for the first few days - my vet told me they will either get along pretty well from the beginning, or try to run each other off soon. Most likely it will be the male who is terretorial, but be aware that you may need to leave the possiblity of returning the female if your male does not like her.

It's hard to tell unless you try it. Good Luck!

first of all, bunnies arent always loveable anyways! but it should work because a boy and girl (FIXED!) combo usually works out the best. rabbits can kill eachother really fast though so watch carefully during the introduction
i would neuter the male because he can be territoriol and they can spray
You could neuter your male rabbit, and then put as many females as your cage space permits! (it's cheaper to neauter a male than a female, and the surgery is less invasive!)
