Yay Im getting a guinea pig what do I need

I rescued my first guinea pig from the Humane Society, and THEN learned about them, and got my second. Here's the quickest and most efficiant things I can give you/tell you.

1.Don't buy a store bought cage!! They may look large enough, but imagine your little ball of fluff 3 times its size, with a 'house' and toys,water bottle and etc. Kinda cramped if u ask me!

2. Large ceramic food bowl (they'll tip anything plastic over and make a bigger mess). Large guinea pig adapt water bottle. I started mine out on a hampster sized one while they were young,but thats becuz i had one already not in use.

3.Bedding. I use fleece blankets. It's a little more work in cleaning, but with spot cleaning daily, you can avoid the mess of shavings, and only have to wash it (which gives the guinea good floor time outside the cage). I personally don't recommend anything else.

4.A house/hut made for a guinea pig. I bought large lego like cubes that you can put together any way you want. Mine LOVE it. One sleeps underneath, and the other loves the top. Its heavy plastic, and so far mine haven't chewed it up!

5. Food/Chews/Toys-this is really up to you. I feed mine a timothy hay based pellet with extra hard chews for good teeth care. Fresh hay is an every 2 day thing. It is VERY important and totally needed. I buy Ravolo's for my guinea's and it is a favorite and highly recommended once daily treat. Its a hard chew that is sure to keep those teeth short! I also buy mine straight Vit C hard chews. I also spoil mine with a large bowl of salad at night before I go tobed. Not only do they love it, and gives them their daily good intake of Vit C (which needs to happen becuz they do not produce it on their own). It also helps them sleep quietly through the night hours :)
