Yay Im getting a guinea pig what do I need

Keeping your guinea pig outside costs more ($170) as you have to make sure that you get things to keep them warm, an indoor cage can cost as little as $30. Cubes and coroplast cages are highly reccommended not only due to their price ($30) but also because they are easy to build, clean and modify. When buying a cage do not buy from a pet store, these are way to small considering that your little guinea pig will become alot bigger, plus all the food bowls, toys and water bottle. The cage should be easy to clean (guinea pigs do not smell, they only smell if you do not clean out their cage enough) and should not have a wire bottom (wire bottoms cause bumble feet). Food bowls should be heavy or clip ons. You will need two (1 for fresh produce and 1 for the pellets) and they cost about $5, a water bottle cost me $7.

I use aspen for bedding. Fleece is another good option, in the short term it is more expensive but when you look at it long term it is alot cheaper. In regards to aspen, the biggest bag is the cheapest, lately I have been getting about the middle size bag which costs about $12. I place newspaper on the bottom (this helps retain heat and costs nothing), I top this with aspen. Guinea pigs also need hay, for me this costs about $5 for a bag of loose hay.

Guinea pigs need plain pellets (not very expensive and last for ages). Fresh produce should be given twice a day, they eat just about everything that you would have in an average household so all you have to do is buy extra when you are doing your grocery shopping.
