Yesterday,i saw a giant rat in backyard im wondering if anyone know wat kind of rat it is2007-11-24 22:20:19

Those are probably still rattus norvegicus. Some wild strains have been known to get as big as cats.

It could also be a gambian pouched rat, slim chance... those aren't legal pets here, and frankly we wouldn't have many around. My money would still be on rattus norvegicus. (That's just a fancy term for the garden-variety rats found outside in most every part of the U.S., and it's also the Latin term for our common pet rats)
