i know this sounds stupid, but can pet rats eat meat?

she likes cucumbers and grapes the best(for treats ofcourse, she eats rat food for her food)

and is apple juice ok?

and should i get her a cage mate? yea i know, female but i heard they die from being lonely, i bought her from petco, she was with many others

Answers:

My friend has 21 rats and she gives them meat (lamb, chicken, turkey, pork, ham, beef and paste) and bread, cereals, rice, pasta, chips, crisps, cake, fruit and veg

They don't get lonely if you are there all the time.

If you are not there then get another one, make sure its another female because the male will have babies from her again and again and again.

Never have a male in the same cage as a female

Females can have a litter then have another litter has soon as the baby rats are eating by themselves. The females can hold off the next pregancy until they are ready

Not sure about food, but they can and will eat just about anything. Also, rats are social animals, so a cagemate is a must. Rats will die of loneliness.

yea rats eat everything but oranges and stuff like that is poisonoise and yea she needs a cage mate (perferably a girl)

meat isn't harmful for rats but i wouldn't suggest giving them much. small amounts of apple juice is ok too.

i would also recommend getting her a cage mate. rats do much better in pairs or groups
