What would you feed a wild grey fox Ive got 2 new friends & Im sure they are getting tired of eating2007-11-25 16:57:23

I just moved to the country from the big city. I now live deep in the piney woods of east Texas. There's been some foxes coming around, really close to the porch, and I feed them 6 squares of bread each day at sunset, when they come out. They eat them all up and they are really funny to watch. Each night they come a little closer, & I figure I can get them to eat out of my hand by winter. Last night I poured out a bag of popcorn, so I know they like that. But is there something other than bread & popcorn, that they eat? I don't want them to get bored & go away. Thanx!

What about giving them some meat. Foxes like meat and they will sure love it. Or you could go search the internet for somethings foxes will eat. Good Luck

feed the wolf like dog food or bread maybe friut or steak try chickin or pork cop stuff like that and maybe it will like and i might leave them alone if they dont want it to go away then tell them to feed it over do food

first, let me say how cool it is that you have two such friends. No matter what. be very careful because they are not domesticated and any sudden moves might cause them to react badly. Aren't foxes carnivores? can they eat dog food? why dont yu check out on line what foxes actually eat in the wild.

Also, lets hope they don't tell too many friends about you. lol

foxes, like dogs, are designed to eat meat. just don't feed them chocolate. apparently that's bad for animals.

call the local humane society to see what they eat, or if it is better to let them feed on their own, sometimes its best not to feed wild animals, at least not by hand!

I'd recommend that the -wild- foxes be left to their own devices. They are natural predators but resort to foraging in urban developments. A diet of easy human food could become un-balanced for them. If you truely want to keep them to remain healthy and in attendance then breeding rabbits for their occasional consumption would be ideal.

All the foxes in my neigborhood love to eat chickens. My chickens. If you want some lovely red foxes you are welcome to them. Seriously though, you should keep your distance from any wild foxes it is very common in some parts of the country for foxes to carry rabies. Please be careful.
