What a fun kid! I used to love to play with all sorts of bugs and other "critters". This is a great thing because it shows that he's curious about the world around him - he must be gentle because you didn't say that he squishes the bugs - and he's courageous because he's in all likelihood secure because of loving family. I'd say you've done a great job as a parent. Keep encouraging him - he'll be so much more well rounded that a child whose mother is always saying "Put that down!" "Don't touch that!" This just teaches them to fear.

is he speaking? like he can communicate with people? if he's autistic and does that you need to teach him to fear those things because they can hurt him.if not let him be but just make sure he knows what can happen.like if he eats it he can get sick

Having worked and been schooled as a preschool teacher, I would say that this is a completely healthy and normal 3 year old who is being a natural born scientist. Most 3 and 4 year olds love experiencing things like bugs, spiders, etc up close and personal. It helps them understand more about their world!
